Budureasca Standard Merlot 2014 / Romanian, red, dry / Merlot 100%
Merlot is the most widely planted variety in the Dealu Mare region, and it is well suited to the soils and microclimate of this region. The fermentation takes up to 15 days where the wine is kept at a moderate temperature of 25 to 27°C which gives this wine the intense fruity characteristics. After malolactic fermentation part of the wine is kept in oak barrels for a period of 3-4 months. Dark ruby in color with lovely aromas of blackberry jam and a hint of vanilla. Full, soft and ripe on the palate with lively and fresh sensations giving this wine a special taste and a long aftertaste. May be associated with pork meat, lamb, beef and mushrooms. Serving temperature: 18 - 20˚C.
